Research Interest:

Design, synthesis and processing, structural characterization, thermal stability, mechanical properties, physical and chemical properties of nanostructured metals.

Prof. K. Lu received various awards and honors including the National Nature Science Award, the CAS Nature Science Award, Hasiguti Foundation Prize, the Third World Academy TWNSO Technology Prize, ISMANAM'98 Gold Medal and Junior Scientist Award, SCI Citation Classic Award (ISI), Ho-Leung-Ho-Lee Technology Science Award, MRS Fellow, Humboldt Research Award. Prof. Lu is an editor of Progress in Materials Science and a Reviewing Editor of Science. He also serves as an editorial member for a number of international journals in the field of materials research.
